CHICAGO – Gas prices in North Central Illinois have remained steady on St. Patrick’s Day, however, drivers may not feel so lucky as the state’s average is 20 cents higher compared to the national average. The American Automobile Association says the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline had a calm week, remaining at $3.46. Illinois’ average is currently $3.65 cents per gallon. LaSalle and Livingston counties remain the cheapest gas prices regionally, at $3.53 cents per gallon. Surrounding counties like Bureau, Putnam, and Lee counties are at nearly $3.60 cents per gallon.
