WSPL Morning Show Host Nick Deranek spoke with Streator Firefighter Bryan Park about the Streator Fire Safety Initiative. The Streator Fire Department, along with the American Red Cross, are looking to place a smoke detector in every home in Streator to help save lives. There will be an informative meeting at the Streator Fire Department on the morning of Saturday, November 7th at 10 AM. This meeting will mobilize their Community Partner teams and include speakers from the Streator Fire Department and the American Red Cross. After the meeting, a short smoke alarm installation program will be taught by the American Red Cross. Streator Fire is preparing to mobilize Community Partner groups to install smoke alarms on several Saturdays starting on November 14th.
