STREATOR – Streator’s Fire Department will be getting some upgrades to their emergency equipment. Nearly $120,000 was awarded by The Department of Homeland Security to acquire new devices, including new heart monitors, defibrillators and CPR devices.
According to Fire Chief Gary Bird, the new AMT approved equipment will make patient transfer from an ambulance to a hospital much easier. The Streator city council approved of the grant Wednesday and the upgrades could be coming within the next few months.
