STREATOR – Long awaited road repairs were approved of at Streator’s Council Meeting, Wednesday. More public comment was had from residents of Geneske Court, that have suffered vehicle damages due to potholes that span four to six inches deep, two feet wide for a 30 foot stretch. According to a resident, they’re forced to drive through a neighbor’s yard to avoid the road. Council approved a road work contract for the problematic Geneske Court as well as Powell, James, West Staton and Rhett Buttler Drive, However according to City Engineer Jeremy Palm it’s likely to be a month before full construction.
